What is Audubon Adventures?
Audubon Adventures is an environmental education curriculum created by the National Audubon Society for grades 3-5. Developed by professional environmental educators, Audubon Adventures presents standards-based science content about birds, wildlife and their habitats.
Audubon Adventures introduces young people, their families and their teachers to the fundamental principles by which the natural world functions. The printed publications and website offer science-based exploration of those principles at work anchored in nonfiction reading and outdoor/classroom activities that help kids to care for our planet by helping birds and other wildlife.
What do the kits contain?
1. Student magazines—3 separate magazine sets (32 printed copies of each). Each magazine focuses on a different topic with engaging nonfiction informational text and photos/illustrations that bring the natural world to life.
2. Educator’s Guides (print or online depending on the theme) with
a) Step by step teaching plan for the topic
b) Hands on activities
c) Background facts and information
3. Student assessment questions and answer keys
4. Glossary words, recommended resources and correlations to national language arts and science standards.
5. Letter to Parent/Guardian and Certificate of Completion
6. Companion website with bonus free content: games, puzzles, quizzes, group activities, video resources and more!
The UVAS has 3 available kits to choose from. Each kit contains complete learning modules involving 3 themes.
