Elva and Dale Paulson
After being thwarted by COVID in 2020 and almost thwarted again in 2021, Umpqua Valley Audubon was finally able to recognize Elva and Dale Paulson for their 40 years of service to UVAS. We’ve enjoyed their mesmerizing and educational programs combining amazing photography with wonderful stories, as well as the annual late-winter “Raptor Run” field trips. Elva’s artwork has graced our birding checklists and she lovingly buffed up our chickadee logo. We look forward to future good times and laughter with Dale and Elva.
The inscription on the award is inspired by the forward to Elva’s “Yellowstone Sketches – Glimpses of Yellowstone National Park” published in 2018 and reads:
Thanks for sharing “wildlife’s personal world” with the rest of us.
