Tufted Puffins at Face Rock?

July 27 - July 28

tufted puffin
Mark (our UVAS board president) and his wife Deb,  recently went to Bandon to cool down and ran into a couple ODFW volunteers watching over a Snowy Plover nesting site at the far end of Bandon Loop road.  One of them told Mark that they are at the overlook at Face Rock on weekends from 9am to 12pm helping folks see the Puffins.  She said that Saturday they saw 10 Puffins and that they were visible for about 90% of the time.  She mentioned that in past years they are usually hanging around through early August.
Mark wanted to share this opportunity with you all.  Please note however that there is something called Circles in the Sand on the weekend of the 21st and it could be very busy out there.
Happy birding!
