Come Join Us Before We Take a Break in December and January
Meet: 9 am at Ford’s Pond parking lot -382 Church Rd, Sutherlin. From I-5 take Exit 136, drive west on Hwy 138 and at 1 mile, turn left onto Church Rd (**GPS may not be dependable). The walk will be approximately 2 hours long. Participants can leave as their schedule allows.
Additional Info: People new to birding are always welcome to join in, as are families with children. Loaner binoculars are available for adults and children. We will have local volunteer birders in attendance, but we also encourage the group to help spot and ID birds. We walk at a slow pace, stopping often to observe birds.
Accessibility: We walk on the ADA accessible pathway on the south side of Ford’s Pond. This path is also adjacent to Woodruff pond that often has unique species. If the slope down the hill from the Church Rd parking lot is difficult for you, there is another smaller gravel parking lot that gives flat access to the walking path. It is on the north side of the pond, off of Hwy 138W a little further west of Church Rd at the second driveway. It does require walking/rolling to the S.E. corner of the pond to meet with the group. There are ADA restrooms at the Church Rd parking lot.
